Homestead head to London Coffee Festival with Blendsmiths!

From 23 - 26 September our General Manager Zoe, Head Barista Lucia and Baristas Mayra and Tomek hit the road and took some time away from pulling shots on our Black Eagle to check out London's bustling and vibrant coffee scene at The London Coffee Festival.

Hosted at The Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, the LCF returned this year for its 10th anniversary after being postponed last year, and is a great event for both those working in the coffee scene (industry days are Thursday and Friday) and the general caffeine loving public, as it continues into the weekend.

All coffee heads come together under one roof, sharing knowledge bombs, tips and tricks on all things speciality coffee, coffee tasting, latte-art demonstrations, coffee-based cocktails and more.

Our friends Ryan and Chris at Blendsmiths create drink blends (think Hot Chocolate, Chai, Tumeric and Beetroot Latte) that are based around nature, health and vibrancy. They are all about tasty drinks, good people and working in collaboration with others, so this was the perfect opportunity to help them on the stand for their first time at LCF. Not only were we able to learn more about Blendsmiths products, what natural ingredients go into them and what drink specials they'll be dropping this winter, but we had good times with great people, and got to use the Modbar steam wand supplied to Blendsmiths by La Marzocco for the festival.

Keep an eye out for our drinks specials over the coming months, as we introduce new items such as a fiery Chilli Hot Chocolate and warming Pumpkin Spiced Latte. If you'd like to read more about what Blendsmiths are about or find out more about Ryan's research into how the shape, smell and colour of food/ drink, its packaging and even the setting in which it was consumed can affect a perceived taste experience, head over to their blog and website at https://www.blendsmiths.com/
